Ravioli is probably my favorite pasta dish, and I bet you love it, too. After all, who wouldn’t love pasta filled with yummy things and topped with more yummy things? No one, that’s who. So if you’re missing ravioli, try out some of these paleo ravioli recipes that are healthy, delicious, and fun.
1. Pumpkin Ravioli in Herbed Brown Butter
Let’s start with some fancy, delicious pumpkin ravioli. You’ll need to make one adjustment to turn this primal recipe into pure paleo: replace the cream cheese with coconut cream. I especially love the crispy outer coating of these babies from sauteing them in brown butter ghee!
2. Tomato Basil Pesto Ravioli
For a class look and flavor, these tomato and basil ravioli has a filling made from cashews for a creamy ricotta-style flavor, along with tomato paste, garlic, and fresh or dried basil. This blogger has a few suggested sauces you could pair it with, but you can use your favorite!
3. Squash Ravioli With Kale Pesto and Pine Nuts
Cassava flour makes a really excellent ravioli “outside” because the texture, when made into dough and cooked, is strikingly similar to wheat-based pasta. This filling is made with roasted acorn squash and the finished product is doused with a homemade, dairy-free kale pesto.
4. Apple Cinnamon Ravioli
For a delicious dessert ravioli that is easy to make and super tasty, make these apple cinnamon ravioli using Cappello’s grain free lasagna sheets. They’re filled with a cinnamon-rich, coconut-sugar-sweetened filling and a bit of optional, delicious ghee.
5. Pesto Sausage Ravioli
Wrapped in sliced zucchini instead of a pasta-style wrap, these sausage ravioli are filled with pastured butter, baby spinach, black pepper, and garlic. Finally, you can sauce them with a dairy-free alfredo made from cauliflower and a basil and walnut pesto.
6. Paleo Toasted Beef Ravioli
Fried ravioli is pretty much heaven, and while it certainly isn’t a dish for every day consumption, this recipe is perfect for a special occasion because it is SO good with mashed yucca root, grass fed ground beef, sweet potato, onion, fresh spinach and basil, and avocado oil for frying with organic marinara sauce.
7. Bacon Beef Ravioli
In true paleo fashion, this amazing ravioli dish is made with Cappello’s lasagna sheets and a crazy-good filling of grass-fed butter, bacon, coconut milk, nutmeg, grass-fed ground beef, garlic, onion, and fresh herbs. Top it with organic pasta sauce.
8. Fire Roasted Butternut Squash Ravioli
I love butternut squash, and its sweet, nutty flavor and creamy texture make the perfect filling for ravioli. This version uses Julian Bakery Paleo Wraps, fresh sage, coconut oil or grass-fed butter, freshly cracked black pepper, and a handful of pine nuts or if you eat dairy, grass-fed parmesan cheese.
