From start to finish, you can have this sauce ready to go in 25 minutes, making it a quick and easy option to whip up when you’re looking to spice up your chili a bit. And spice it up, it will—the sauce is made with two fresh long red chili peppers, along with a few other tasty ingredients like garlic, ginger, and honey (which all have the added benefit of making sure the sauce doesn’t just taste great, but it’s packed with antioxidants as well).

Ingredients

    • 2 fresh long red chili peppers, halved and seeded
    • 2 garlic cloves, peeled
    • 1 inch ginger, peeled
    • ½ cup water
    • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
    • ½ cup mild honey
    • salt to taste

Directions

  1. Place the chili peppers, garlic cloves and ginger in a food processor and process until finely chopped.
  2. Press the SAUTE button on the Instant pot and let stand until screen reads “HOT”.
  3. Add the chili mixture, water, vinegar and honey and mix to combine.
  4. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is thickened to your liking, about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Season to taste with salt.
  6. Transfer the sauce into a jar and refrigerate until ready to use.
